Police searching for drowning victim
UPDATE: Police report that the body of the missing man was recovered earlier today.
Bracebridge OPP are investigating a water related incident on Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst.
Police say that yesterday at 11:20 a.m. officers, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to an address on Muskoka Road 169 near Glen Echo Road in Gravenhurst regarding a possible drowning.
Loved ones called 9-1-1 to report that a Toronto area man, who is visiting the area, took a kayak out onto Lake Muskoka near Taylor Island and encountered difficulties causing him to enter the water.
The search began quickly and the Bracebridge OPP marine unit members attended to assist in the search, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are assisting.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
